How do I know that Norsk™ floor mats will fit my vehicle type?

What are the basic features I should be looking for in a car mat?

The primary function of any car mat is to protect the car subflooring and interior from moisture, mud, dirt & debris. The better the design is able to address all of these issues and also fits well in your vehicle the better it will perform. In the case of carpeted mats you need to pay close attention to the quality of carpet being used. Just like carpet for your home – the better the quality and performance protection of the carpet the better the value and overall performance.

What are the differences between your Deluxe, Heavy‐Duty and Super‐Duty floor

Norsk™ floor mats are available in a variety of price points without compromising performance. Our Good/Better/Best offering allows consumers to select a product that fits their budget without compromising quality or performance. Unlike many car mat manufacturers price dramatically affects performance. We try to provide you with the basic functions that a car mat performs with all of our mats. Holding capacity for moisture, mud, dirt & debris increases as you move up the scale from Deluxe/Heavy‐Duty/Super‐Duty as does the robust nature of the product. Heavy‐Duty and Super‐Duty floor mats live up to their namesake by having greater overall durability and increasing overall material weight as you move up in grades. Every Norsk™ floor mat features a deep well design to capture the elements described and some feature our patent pending anti‐slip nib design holding each mat firmly in place.

What's the difference between all‐weather floor mats and carpet floor mats?

All‐weather floor mats offer better protection against the elements. Made of durable, co‐polymer materials, all‐weather floor mats have tall outer walls creating a “well effect” creating containment for unwanted dirt, mud and moisture. Maintaining all‐weather mats is very easy with most models permitting hosing off for quick cleaning, whether they're soiled with mud or a spilled drink. Carpeted floor mats are a more personalized way to protect your interior. Designed to replace your factory floor mats and exceed them in quality, carpet floor mats are thicker fabrics than factory mats for longer life and better crush resistance. Carpet mats are measured by ounce ratings that refer to the per square yard weight of the nylon carpet material. Heavier weight per square yard means a thicker, denser, more crush‐resistant floor mat. The weight per square yard only pertains to the carpet itself and does not include the weight of waterproof linings, gripper bottoms, fastening systems or nylon borders that are also a part of your floor mats. Cleaning carpet floor mats is a snap, simply run a vacuum cleaner over them after they start getting dirty. When you want to have the cleaning done quickly, just give them a thorough shaking, and they are good to go.

Do Norsk™ carpet floor mats have stain protection?

All Norsk™ Ultra Premium carpeted mats we manufacture are treated to resist soiling and staining.

Will my floor mats slide around?

All Norsk™ floor mats are made with an anti‐slipping design. Some of our models feature a special patent pending sure grip design similar in concept to technology used in golf shoes for traction and sure footedness.

What’s the best way to clean my car floor mats?

Just vacuuming usually does the trick. If there are spills on the car floor mat you can hose down your vinyl mats and clean with a gentle soap. Let air dry before replacing it in the car. Carpeted mats are cleaned by vacuuming and cleaning with carpet cleaning products and allowing to air dry.

Will Norsk™ floor mats match my vehicle's interior?

All Norsk™ floor mats are available in universal colors to match or accent your vehicle's interior. Our Ultra‐Premium carpet floor mats come in 3 basic colors designed to coordinate with most car interiors. All‐weather mats are available in several universal colors that blend perfectly with your original car interior colors. Below is a list of questions that customers frequently ask.

Is a Car Cover a deterrent for car theft?

Yes – it can act as a definite theft deterrent. Most car thieves are working against the clock – so the faster they can break into it and drive off undetected the better. Because car covers takes a time to be removed the car thief needs more time to steal the car and therefore he is more exposed for a longer period of time. Given the option of selecting from cars that are covered versus uncovered most thieves will opt for the easier situation that takes less time in exposing them to getting caught. Car Covers protect contents (sound systems, etc) inside the vehicle as well by keeping them out of view making them less likely to be stolen.

How can I prevent my car cover from being stolen?

The Norsk™ lock and cable assembly is a definite anti‐theft deterrent. Marking your cover in a distinctive way with your name will also help as it can be readily identified if stolen.

Is there a correct way to install a cover?

Always start at the front bumper and work backwards making sure that the side mirrors are retracted where possible. Older vehicles are often easier to cover by starting with the roof and windows first and then proceeding to the front and rear of the car. Some older coupes and roadsters may be unable to install the cover at all if you start with the front or the rear bumper.

How does the car cover attach to my car?

Your Norsk™Car Cover comes with elastic in the front and rear hems. Grommets are positioned underneath both door areas to be used in conjunction with our cable locking kit – keeping the cover in place during high winds or inclement weather.

Do I need to tie the cover down?

Yes ‐ Norsk™Car Covers come with rope to assist in properly tying your cover down. When tied down properly, the cover remain in position during bad weather conditions.

Can I put a wet cover on a vehicle?

Assuming your vehicle is clean, the best way to dry your Norsk™ Car Cover cover is to drap it over your vehicle. Warm temperatures and circulating air will evaporate all of the moisture in the cover. It should be noted that in order to prevent damage to the vehicle and cover, a car with a wet cover should remain in the shade or a garage.

How does my Car Cover keep the vehicle cooler and protected in other ways?

Keeping your vehicle in the shade is the most obvious choice and keeping your windows lowered just enough to allow air to circulate is also helpful. This helps greatly as ambient temperatures increase inside the vehicle under warm conditions (Leaving your windows down overnight or for longer periods of time are not recommended for obvious security reasons). Our Ultra Premium Norsk™ Car Covers provide optimum heat insulation over most covers due to our 4‐later construction, designed to breathe permitting adequate air‐flow through the cover.

What about protection from tree sap and bird droppings?

All Norsk™ Car Covers provide adequate protection from unwanted tree sap or bird droppings. The covers are designed to withstand these nuisances while protecting your vehicle.

How will the cover accommodate my antenna?

If your antenna is removable we recommends that you remove it fro your vehicle. It will make covering your car easier. An antenna patch is included with most covers for antennas that don't retract.

How should I wash and care for my car cover?

Norsk™ Car Covers should be washed by hand with a mild liquid detergent/soap such as Woolite. Use a sponge to wash and then rinse thoroughly to remove all soap or detergent and then allow the cover to air dry thoroughly. Do not machine wash or dry. Washing the cover on the vehicle may be easier – in order to clean both sides simply wash one side thoroughly and allow it to completely air dry prior to flipping the car cover over to wash the other side.

What type of boxes do the covers ship in?
